Privacy Policy
Your fits are your business. Here’s what stays on your iPhone, what is sent when you ask for an outfit check, and what our service providers process.
Last updated: October 8, 2026
1. Who we are
YayNay (“Selfie Outfit Checker: YayNay”) is an iPhone app provided by Metin Arslantürk (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the app and this website, yaynay.arslanturk.dev. For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@apps.arslanturk.dev.
2. No account, information stored on your device
YayNay does not require an account, email address, or sign-up. The following is stored only on your iPhone:
- your profile: an optional name or nickname, your style preference (womenswear, menswear, a mix, or rather not say), your style vibes and your chosen honesty level;
- your fit diary: the photos you checked and their results;
- your settings.
We do not run a cloud backup of this information, and we cannot access it.
3. When you analyze an outfit
When you ask YayNay to check an outfit, or to compare two outfits in This or That, the app sends the information needed to generate the result to our backend, which runs on Cloudflare Workers (yaynay-api.arslanturk.dev), and from there to our AI processing provider, which generates the result on our behalf. A request includes:
- the photo or photos you selected, resized and compressed as JPEG;
- your plan details: whether you’re posting or going out, the platform and post type or the place, company and time of day, your goal, and your optional note;
- the app language;
- your style profile: your name if you gave one, your style preference, your style vibes and your honesty level.
We do not store your photos, the prompts or the AI results on our servers. The result is returned to your app and saved only on your device.
YayNay asks for your explicit permission before your first analysis, and you can change your choice at any time in the app’s Settings. Please only upload photos of yourself, or of people who have agreed to it. Do not upload photos of children.
4. Your anonymous device account
To provide free checks and Premium access without sign-up, our backend keeps an anonymous device account containing:
- a random installation ID and a random device ID generated by the app (the device ID is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain and can survive reinstalling);
- your remaining free checks;
- an anonymous RevenueCat purchase ID used to check Premium access;
- request metadata: request type, status, verdict category, duration and timestamp.
This record does not contain your photos, your name or your results. Like any internet service, Cloudflare processes connection data such as IP address to deliver and protect the backend.
5. Payments and RevenueCat
Apple handles in-app payments; we never receive your payment-card details. RevenueCat manages and validates YayNay Premium. It receives an anonymous app user ID, purchase and transaction history, and technical purchase information such as app and SDK version, platform, product identifiers, transaction dates, currency and storefront. This is used for purchase validation, restoration, entitlement management and purchase analytics, not for advertising. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy.
6. App usage analytics
YayNay uses Mixpanel to understand how the app is used and to improve it. We send a closed list of events: app opens, onboarding steps, paywall views and purchase and restore outcomes, a check being started, a photo being selected (camera or library), the destination you selected, analysis requested, succeeded or failed (with the verdict and a score category), captions or hashtags copied, results shared, the fit diary opened or an entry deleted, review requests, language changes, your answer to the AI permission request, and account deletion. Events include the app language, your device region setting and whether Premium is active, together with a random identifier generated for your installation, timestamps and technical details such as app version and operating system.
Mixpanel derives approximate location (such as country, region and city) from the connection IP address. We do not send your photos, name, notes or result text, and automatic interaction capture is disabled. See Mixpanel’s privacy policy.
7. No ads and no tracking
YayNay shows no ads and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. It does not request access to your advertising identifier (there is no tracking prompt), does not include the Meta (Facebook) SDK, and does not sell your personal information.
8. Camera and Photos
YayNay uses your camera only when you choose to take a photo in the app, and you can pick a photo from your library instead. It saves a share card to your Photos only when you ask it to. You can change camera and Photos access at any time in your iPhone’s Settings.
9. This website and support
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes connection data such as IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time to deliver and protect the site. We do not use analytics scripts, advertising trackers or cookies on this website. If you email support, we process your email address and what you send us to respond. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
10. Retention and deletion
You control the data on your device. In YayNay, open Settings and choose “Delete account & data” to delete your profile, fit diary, photos and settings on your device and the anonymous account record on our server. We keep a device marker so free checks are not granted twice. Deleting the app also removes its local data, though the Keychain device ID may remain on your iPhone.
Request metadata is kept only as long as needed to operate and protect the service. Apple’s and RevenueCat’s transaction records are retained for purchase restoration, fraud prevention and legal obligations, and are not erased by deleting the app. Mixpanel events are kept to analyze and improve the app; contact us about analytics deletion requests. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations.
11. Children
YayNay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The AI declines to analyze photos of children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will address it.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU, UK or Turkey’s KVKK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, to know what we collect and why, to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights, and to complain to a data-protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Data on your device is in your control; we cannot access or retrieve it. For requests about records we or our providers hold, contact contact@apps.arslanturk.dev.
We process information to provide the outfit checks you request (performance of our service to you, and your consent for sending photos for analysis), to manage purchases, to improve the app and keep it secure (our legitimate interests), to respond to support, and to meet legal requirements.
13. International processing
Apple, RevenueCat, Mixpanel, Cloudflare, our AI processing provider and email providers may process information in countries outside your own, including the United States, under their applicable safeguards.
14. Security and changes to this policy
Connections between the app and our backend are encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app, our providers or legal requirements, and will give notice of material changes where required. The date above shows the current version.
